Martu Loncarica, M.S, MBA
La Salle Field Hockey Head Coach
Martu was born and raised in Argentina, where she grew up loving the sport and learning from the best coaches and mentors. She later came on to America to pursue an education and play DI Field Hockey. She received many accolades as a player, including 3x time All America Honors, and top female athlete of the year at Syracuse University.
Martu is currently the Head Coach at La Salle University. Previously she was the associate head at Saint Joseph’s University where she also spent two years as a volunteer during the 2015-16 seasons. During this time the coaching staff transformed the program into one of the top teams in the A-10.
Following her two years as a volunteer assistant at Saint Joseph's, Loncarica made an immediate impact with her transition to Assistant Coach at William & Mary in 2017. The Tribe enjoyed one of the highest-scoring seasons in program history and reached the Colonial Athletic Association championship game for the first time in 15 years. The following year, the Tribe won its first-ever conference championship and returned to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2002.
In addition to her collegiate coaching accolades, Loncarica has been a member of the coaching staff for the USA Field Hockey U-21 National Team and the Women’s Developmental National Team since 2018.
Martu is eager to transform field hockey at La Salle and to share her passion and knowledge of the game with anyone who joins Hoki clinics. Martu and her husband, Nemo, live in Manayunk with their baby Oliver and dogs Branca and Bojrn!
